Move Safely: Our Health Note

Zinga Fitness is about moving joyfully. Part of moving joyfully is moving safely, so here is what you should know before following anything on this site.

General information, not medical advice

Everything we publish is general information about exercise, dance and wellbeing. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it cannot take into account your health history, medications, injuries or current condition. Reading this site does not create any professional relationship.

Check in first if any of these apply

  • You have a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, a lung condition or another long-term health condition.
  • You have had chest pain, fainting or dizziness, especially during activity.
  • You are pregnant or recently gave birth.
  • You are recovering from an injury or surgery, or you have joint, bone or balance problems.
  • You have been inactive for a long time and are unsure where to start.

Your doctor, a physical therapist or another qualified professional can help you decide what is right for you.

Stop and get help if

  • You feel chest pain or pressure, severe breathlessness, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or you feel faint.
  • You feel sharp or worsening pain in a joint, or pain that lingers after you stop.
  • Anything feels wrong in a way that worries you.

In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Your space, your responsibility

Clear the floor, wear supportive shoes or move barefoot on a safe surface as appropriate, keep water nearby, and adapt every move to your body. Lower-impact options are always a good choice, never a lesser one.
